About Harvest

Harvest, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that empowers citizens by creating and managing community garden and orchard spaces, in addition to providing workshops on organic gardening and fruit tree care. Our primary emphasis is on lower-income residents in urban food deserts, though neither our sites nor garden membership are exclusionary based upon income. We reserve the right to fund raise and solicit for supplies, maintenance needs, and properties to be used as community garden and/or community orchard spaces.

Upcoming Events

Hello, friends!

Spring has finally arrived in Sioux City, and it is time to get the garden planted! (Hooray!) Harvest, Inc will be hosting two clean-up and planting days at our Treglia Community Garden site on Saturday, April 12th and Sunday, April 13th from 10:00am until 4:00pm. During this time, we will have master gardeners on site to help you plan your garden and get it started, and we will have an opportunity to clean up the common areas and meet our fellow gardeners. We’re also bringing you heirloom organic seeds from Seed Savers Exchange to get you started! Please plan to attend for at least one of those days. And bring your family or friends — this is a fantastic way for you to meet your neighbors!

If you haven’t yet signed up for a plot and want one, don’t fret — we still have just a few garden plots left. Let us know now, or at the garden planting event. Just a reminder, though — our plots are first-come, first-served, and once they are full, your name will be put on a waiting list. So let us know soon if you’re ready to plant your own garden!

We’re looking forward to seeing you on April 12th and 13th!
